“有一个概念叫‘从西方向东方’，整个产业链从制造到研发都在往东边转移。斯凯孚在全球有15个技术中心，而球轴承全球研发中心目前只在中国有。”斯凯孚（SKF）中国区副总裁施波告诉澎湃新闻。
总部位于瑞典哥特堡的斯凯孚公司是全球Z大的轴承生产商。近日，斯凯孚球轴承新昌生产基地及研发中心项目在浙江绍兴正式启动。该项目总用地面积约13万平方米，总投资7.7亿瑞典克朗（约合6亿元人民币）。
球轴承是滚动轴承的一种，被称为“工业的关节”。球轴承应用广泛，可用于汽车制造、铁路、机床、新材料制造等各个工业领域。
斯凯孚新昌生产基地及研发中心项目一期于2018年7月开工建设，去年1月首套生产线顺利投产，二期项目正在建设中。
“二期项目年底建成投产后，产值将达41亿元，成为中国Z大的轴承制造单体工厂。”新昌县委书记李宁介绍称，该项目是新昌县近年来Z大的外商投资项目。
斯凯孚中国区CTO吴芳基博士对澎湃新闻表示，斯凯孚球轴承研发中心从“西方转移到东方”的决定因素是应用。“哪里有应用，哪里才有创新的动因。”新昌项目也是斯凯孚在全球投资建设的Z大球轴承生产基地。
“在后疫情时代，‘保供’是Z关键的一点。从供应链角度，我们与本地供应商也在互相磨合，以实现无缝对接。”施波表示。
从市场占有率看，全球轴承行业巨头包括瑞典SKF、德国Schaeffler、日本NSK等。可查数据显示，全球轴承的消费情况中，欧洲约占25%，美洲占20%，经过过去15年的高速增长，亚洲的轴承消费已占到全球的50%。中国目前已经成长为全球Z大的轴承消费市场，占比超过30%。
新昌位于浙江省东部，绍兴市南部。新昌县委书记李宁介绍，新昌是中国轴承之乡、纺机基地、冷配大县、汽车零部件生产基地。“新昌目前有销售超百亿企业3家、上市企业15家。尤其在2020年，新昌在全国县域经济综合竞争力百强县中位列第58位，为历史Z高排名。”李宁说。
目前，世界八大跨国轴承公司中有6家公司在中国设立了中国总部。
